As the beginning of a new year arrives, most people take the opportunity to make resolutions, which is a good thing, but I have seen that for the most part, resolutions get broken and we get discouraged.  Instead, I am purposing, starting today, to be more disciplined in the areas of bible reading, memorizing, and studying God’s word, eating, and exercising.  Notice, I said more disciplined. I am not limiting myself to something specific like, “I will read four chapters a day”, or “I will exercise four days a week” or “I will read three books this year”. This will inevitably set me up to fail.  Like most resolutions, when we break them, we get discouraged and give up.  Either way, it is virtually impossible to set our goals and stick to them without God’s help!

Truly,  “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”

If we find we have not accomplished what we wanted to one day, Remember tomorrow is a new day and a new beginning once again. God’s mercies are new every morning. “It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.  They are new every morning; great is Thy faithfulness.”  God loves us, knows our weakness and wants us to succeed.
