First Things First

First things First

Psalm 63:1 says “O God, my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You; In a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.”

We are in desperate need of the Lord every minute of every day.  Before our feet hit the floor, our very first thoughts as we wake up ought to be to acknowledge Him.  We need to thank the Lord every morning for giving us a new day, a new start if you will, to glorify Him with our lives.  The very fact that He wakes us up and gives us that chance shows He still has a purpose for us on this earth.

Romans 8:29 tells us “For those whom He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His son”.  Our main purpose is to be conformed to the image of Christ, so we should be asking Him to give us the grace to see every opportunity throughout the day to achieve that purpose.  We all can acknowledge the fact that we don’t know what this day will hold, but He does and we need to ask Him to help us respond the right way so that we will grow and He will be glorified.
