The very first verse in the Bible (Genesis 1:1) says, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”  After each account of the days of creation, It says God saw that it was good.  Everything God does is perfect.  His creation is magnificent.  On the third day, He created vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees.  These obviously have a purpose for us.  God provided food for us. This is when He would have created flowers.  One reason He created flowers is for our enjoyment.  There is such a variety of flowers for us to gaze upon and reflect on the awesomeness of God!

As beautiful as the flowers are, someday they will die.  Chapter 21 of the book of Revelation talks about the new heaven and the new earth.  The current earth and heaven will pass away and there will be a new heaven and a new earth.  We can’t fathom how beautiful the new earth will be.  The colors, the detail, and the perfection are beyond our imagination.  1 Corinthians 13:12 says, “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face.”  The reflection in the mirrors in Bible times was not nearly as clear as they are now.  Looking into them would give you a dim reflection, not nearly as clear as seeing something in person.  The landscape of the new earth will be awesome!

One thing that will never change is God’s word.  Isaiah 40, verse 8 says,

“The grass withers and the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.”

God and His word will stand, unchanged, for eternity.  What a comfort knowing the truth of God’s word is reliable, it can never fade away!!
