We all strive to be a “Proverbs 31 woman”. We want to be that woman described in Proverbs 31:10-31 who does it all and is perfect in character. Verse 15 says, “She gets up while it is still night”, which makes sense; if she wants to accomplish all that is described here, she would have to get up pretty early. The picture here is for her to start her day before any else in the house gets up. I never considered myself a morning person. I really don’t like to wake up early. I get my best sleep in the morning. I don’t like anyone to talk to me in the morning. Can anyone relate? BUT… I’m never sorry when I do get up super early. It is the most beautiful and peaceful time of the day. We really are missing out when we miss the sun rise. It is a time of preparation. The rest of verse 15 says, “she provides food for her family and for her female servants.” Not many of have servants today, but the idea here is that we prepare for the day, both physically and spiritually. Personally, I start out with detox water and my bible. Many people need a cup of coffee to start their day. Whatever works for you. I challenge you, myself included, to get up before the sun rises one day a week. If you don’t normally get up super early, I think you will find it to be a blessing and very productive. There are so many advantages to getting up early, I pray that God would give us the grace to do it! I’d love to hear from you and share your experience and how you or your family benefited from it.
